The fourth Atlantic Recreation & Facilities Conference and Trade Show will be held May 27-May 29, 2020 at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This year’s conference theme is “Focused on the Future”. Registration is now open and available on-line at ARFC.ca.
The ARFC will have opening and closing keynote speakers, round-tables and sessions focusing on professional development and growth, a trade show focused on programming and purchasing opportunities, and nightly social events creating opportunities for collaboration and networking.
The Trade Show will be held on-site at the Sheraton Hotel on Thursday, May 28th and will have over 40 booths of vendors from across North America. They’ll be demonstrating and showcasing their latest products, services, and market trends affecting today’s recreation personnel. The event will have local food and drink, prize draws from exhibitors booths, and a grand prize draw.
There are a variety of breakout and round-table sessions including these opening and closing keynotes; “There is no one so blind as someone who can see but has no vision: Tips on how to make good decisions” by Dr. David Scott, Associate Professor of Sport Psychology, Faculty of Kinesiology, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton and “Building Inclusive Communities: An Abilities Centre Model” by Stuart McReynolds, President & CEO, Abilities Centre, Whitby, Ontario.
The member rate is $375 +tax for any staff of a member of Recreation PEI. Student rates are also available. Registrations prior to March 2, 2020 will receive a $25 (before tax) Early Bird Discount and be entered into a prize draw for a complimentary one night stay at the host Sheraton Hotel during the conference.
